it would be nice if there was some kind of "knockback" when fighting enemies. they just keep coming at you and doing damage even when you are attacking them forcing the player to continuously "kite" the enemies or use the fire spell from a distance all the time

Very very good! 9/10 the pixel art , 7/10 the design and mechanics (they are classic, not so innovative), 6/10 the animations (I don't like it so much. The animation of the fire, for example, looks very weird), 7/10 the plot
